  2. abdirahman says:

  3. jtm371 says:

sorry to hear martini boy is back.

  4. PMM says:

Is anyone else having a problem receiving the NBC Extra Time Channels on DirecTV this morning?

  5. Timm says:

The ExtraTime channels are the -1 channels. 491-1, 492-1, etc. I don’t know why they are showing this way, but this really messed up the recording for many viewers. I taped 40 minutes of the DirecTV logo on four channels.

  6. PMM says:

Timm, Thanks for the tip. Funny after spending 20 minutes on the phone with DirecTV that they could not tell me that.

  7. Guy says:

ugh. No need to watch any more of the Stoke match. :-(

  8. James says:

Terrific wins for Arsenal and Everton. Everton under Martinez are very impressive and to think he only has been there for a few months. Best manager in Liverpool by a mile. Makes Rodgers look very average.

Martin Jol cannot survive the sack after Fulham lose to West Ham 3-0. Next up for them is Spurs on Wednesday. Will Fulham have a new manager before then?

Aston Villa and Sunderland will both be happy with the draw. Sunderland are slowly improving under Poyet.

  9. Christopher Harris says:

A very open game between Newcastle and West Brom. Very enjoyable to watch, and what a goal by Sissoko!

  10. Kris says:

LAME. Cox Communications *has cancelled* their coverage of the Premier League Extra Time channels. NO MORE OVERFLOW CHANNELS. sigghhhh. So very lame.

Tech Support guy said that Cox “did not renew contract for the extra time channels”. I surrreeeee hope that it’s just a momentary lapse and that Cox and NBC will renew.

All of the overflow channels simply say “Sign Off” now. Missed all 5 games today. Only caught Newcastle on regular NBC.

    sigh again.

Does anyone know if Dish or DirecTV carry the premier league extra time channels?

I have to switch my service ASAP.

Cox, you guys are super lame for not renewing contract.

    • Todd Shenk says:

I have Dish and was able to watch matches this morning.

    • TheDuke says:

whoever told you they did not renew the contract is either an idiot or lying no way nbc did contracts for the first twelve weeks and then didn’t renew them. if you are a soccer addict and want the most you can get go with directv and while you are hooking up ask for beinsport play because the CR rep at direct i talked to last week said they were getting a lot of requests for that and the Directv program lineup is largely based off of what people ask for.

  11. Kris says:

So wait. It happened on DirecTV as well? Overflow channels not working…

Gaffer, maybe a more wipe spread problem?

Cox and DirecTV, on same weekend, both black out the overflow channels? Seems odd.

Only one out of the nine games on Wednesday is being shown so far on Cox. Just the United Everton game. Lame.

What’s going on with Premier League Extra Time??

    • Christopher Harris says:

Kris, let me check into it and I’ll post a new article about it if/when I find out more details. Or if it’s just a temporary outage, I’ll reply to this thread.

      • Kris says:

        Thx, Gaff

        mucho appreciated!

Hopefully it was simply *yet another* customer service/tech rep that had no clue what he was talking about, but those were his exact words… “Cox cancelled the account to carry the PLET channels”.

… at least the big three matches are all on NBCSN tomorrow, and I’ll catch the Man City match on the app.

        Thx, Chris!

        • Martin J. says:

I doubt that Cox did not renew since the games did come on midway through the second half. I have Cox New England. They were receiving so many calls about the Extra Time channels that he/she must have just made it up since they did not know why. It looks like other carriers had the same problem so it must have been an NBC issue.

      • Oliver Thery says:

Chris, did you ever find out anything about the games not being shown? I am on Cox and on Saturday, none of the Extra Time games were ever shown (except they eventually appeared at the 80th minute..)
Same thing on Sunday for the ManCity-Swansea game.I am reading some conflicting things.

  12. Chad says:

I was able to watch matches on the Time Warner extra time feature.
