Cristiano Ronaldo scored from a diving header Friday night to help Portugal defeat Sweden 1-0 in the first leg of the World Cup playoff.

In a closely fought game, Ronaldo’s goal was the difference after grabbing the matchwinner in the second half for Portugal (watch GIF below).

Portugal play Sweden on Tuesday to decide who will go to World Cup 2014. For viewers in the United States, the match kicks off on Tuesday at 2:45pm on ESPN2, ESPN Deportes and WatchESPN.com
