USA coach Jurgen Klinsmann says that the USSF is in talks with England regarding a potential friendly to be played before the 2014 World Cup, according to an interview in Sports Illustrated.
Earlier this week, World Soccer Talk revealed that the United States are planning a pre World Cup tournament to be played on US soil around April-May in preparation for the FIFA World Cup. And that Iran has been invited to participate, while the two other teams that will compete will include a European team and a team from South America. All of the details haven’t been finalized, but we do know that England are seriously considering using Miami as a training base if England qualifies for World Cup 2014.
We could see a re-match of the World Cup 2010 game between England and the United States, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
