FOX Sports has quietly released its FOX Sports GO app for iPad and iPhone devices.

The app, which was supposed to be ready in August to coincide with the launch of FOX Sports 1, was released on October 1. It’s also compatible with the iPod Touch, but as of press time, no version is available for Android devices.

With FOX Sports GO, sports fans can watch live games and shows from FOX Sports 1 and FOX Sports 2. In order to access the app, you need to authenticate your login through participating TV providers, which are currently AT&T U-Verse, Optimum, xFinity Comcast, Midcontinent, suddenLink and Wow. The app, which is free, only offers live streaming capabilities at this time.

The live events that the app shows are UEFA Champions League, college football, NASCAR, UFC and college basketball. Among the shows the app makes available are FOX Soccer Daily and Crowd Goes Wild.

Currently, the app is very basic. It’s essentially a video player where you can just watch live shows. FOX Sports GO is nowhere near as robust as the FOX Soccer 2Go app, but the free (with authenticated login) availability of live UEFA Champions League games that are shown live on FOX Sports 1 and FOX Sports 2 is beneficial.
