cristiano ronaldo Cristiano Ronaldo Agrees £14million a year Contract Through 2018: Daily Soccer Report

Real Madrid have scheduled a press conference for today to announce that Cristiano Ronaldo has signed a new contract. According to reports in Marca, Ronaldo will sign a new £14million-a-year contract that will keep him at Real Madrid until 2018.

It’s incredible to consider how far Ronaldo has come. When he arrived at Manchester United and played his first few games at Old Trafford, he was the king of the step-over, but would have nothing on the end of it, often losing the ball. And now he’s the second best footballer in the world earning a ungodly amount of money each week.

Here are today’s world soccer news headlines:

La Liga

Premier League

Australian soccer

  1. Adam Heap says:

That’s a scary amount of money for one player to be earning. Wonder if it means he won’t be returning to Old Trafford for quite a while?

  2. Frill Artist says:

So in your opinion, Gaffer? Who is the best? Just curious.

    • Christopher Harris says:

Messi, without a doubt. But Ronaldo is a completely different type of player. If Barcelona keep on slipping in Europe, however, it’ll give Ronaldo the opportunity to achieve with Real Madrid what Messi did with Barcelona.

      What do you think?

  3. Gary says:

Once Fergie retired I don’t think Ronaldo was ever going to return to United. Ronaldo and Fergie had a special relationship that continued even after Ronaldo went to Madrid.

American sportsmen make just as much if not more than what Ronaldo will make. And football is more popular worldwide than any American sport. I think the money Ronaldo will make includes endorsements for club and other entities.
