Everton defeated Chelsea 1-0 today at Goodison Park after a goal from Steven Naismith broke the deadlock.

While the first half was a tentative match between both sides, Naismith grabbed a goal for Everton just before the first 45 minutes ended. It was excellent build-up play that led to the goal, but the decisive moment was Nikica Jelavic’s header back across the box to gift Naismith with an easy header in front of goal.

The second half opened up into a frenetic match with both teams pushing forward to try to get the win. It was one of the best endings to a Premier League match so far this season with end-to-end action. For the Toffees, they thankfully held on to a well-deserved victory.
