Manchester United have announced the signing of 17-year-old teenage right back Saidy Janko from FC Zurich today for an undisclosed fee, according to Manchester United’s official club website.

Janko had a trial spell with Manchester United recently, where he impressed the United coaches. Born in Switzerland, Saidy has a Gambian father and Swiss/Italian mother. The right back, who can also play as a right winger, has six caps for Switzerland at the under-18 level.

According to Manchester United, Saidy “will look to initially make his mark in the lower age groups with United.”

Janko is the second signing of the summer transfer window. Manchester United announced the signing of Marouane Fellaini after he was acquired from Everton Football Club in a last minute deal before the window closed.
