Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano on a season-long loan, according to Metro newspaper.

The 27-year-old Italian goalkeeper has earned 6 caps for the national team, as well as having a playing career that spans Inter Milan, Brescia, Palermo, Bologna and, most recently, Fiorentina on loan.

Viviano is expected to arrive in London to complete his medical before signing a loan deal prior to the Monday 11pm UK time transfer day deadline.

The goalkeeper, who is the second choice goalkeeper for the Italy national team, is expected to give Wojciech Szczęsny competition for the starting Arsenal goalkeeper position.
