Chelsea have completed the signing of Cameroon striker Samuel Eto’o on a free transfer from Anzhi Makhachkala.

In 2011, Eto’o became the world’s highest paid footballer with a salary of €20 million after tax per season. After the Anzhi owner decided to shrink the team’s budget this summer, Eto’o was put on the transfer market.

Chelsea swooped in with a wage offer that is believed to be £7million per year.

Eto’o has won titles in Spain and Italy as well as winning the African Cup Of Nations in 2000 and 2002. Plus, he is a four-time winner of the African Player of the Year Award.
