Real Madrid midfielder Mesut Ozil says he’s staying at Real Madrid, and has brushed off transfer rumors that have linked the German international with a move to Manchester United.

Ozil said today:

“I totally identify with [Real Madrid]. Many things [have been] said in the press and although it is true that there is interest from other teams, I can assure you that I am only thinking about Madrid.”

Spanish newspaper El Confidencial reported that Real Madrid had received a £34.5million offer from Manchester United for Ozil.

Meanwhile, Arsenal transfer target Angel Di Maria has also expressed his interest in staying with Real Madrid. Di Maria said:

“But I signed up to 2018 just a year ago and my desire is to stay in the Bernabeu.”

While Di Maria and Ozil say that they’re staying at Real Madrid, it isn’t their decision. With the anticipated transfer signing of Gareth Bale, it’s quite conceivable that Real Madrid will want to offload some players to decrease the wage bill.
