US international striker Jozy Altidore scored his first goal for Sunderland tonight after joining the club this summer.

Altidore opened the scoring for Sunderland in the second half as the team fought back after going two-nil down to MK Dons in the Capital One Cup. Altidore’s goal opened up the scoring for Sunderland, who then stormed to a 4-2 victory.

The goal from Altidore came in the 78th minute after Sunderland broke on the counter attack, with Altidore slotting the ball calmly into the net past the oncoming goalkeeper.

Altidore’s next match for Sunderland is this Saturday against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. For viewers in the United States, the match will be shown live on the over-the-air network NBC beginning at 12:30pm ET.
