Tottenham Agree Deal With Steaua Bucharest For Romanian Defender Vlad Chiriches, Says Report

Vlad Chiriches Tottenham Agree Deal With Steaua Bucharest For Romanian Defender Vlad Chiriches, Says Report

Romanian centre back Vlad Chiriches is close to signing with Tottenham Hotspur for a Steaua Bucharest club record fee, according to the manager of the Romanian club team.

The 23-year-old defender, who has 19 caps for the Romania national team, is seen as an ideal replacement for Steven Caulker who joined Cardiff City this summer. Tottenham Hotspur needs depth in that position, and that’s exactly what the highly rated central defender provides.

Despite Steaua Bucharest and Tottenham reportedly agreeing a deal, personal terms still have to be finalized.

Earlier in the day, Romania national team manager Victor Piturca confirmed that Chiriches was set to move to a new club in a matter of days, with Tottenham the likely destination.

Chiricheș is valued at £7million.
