In advance of reports that Gareth Bale will join Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow, the official Real Madrid club website has begun selling Gareth Bale shirts.

Now that the news has leaked that Real Madrid jumped the gun, the official Real Madrid online store has removed the mention of Bale, but as you can see pictured above (thanks to 101 Great Goals), Gareth Bale was listed on the website under the number 11 shirt.

Currently the number 11 jersey is not being worn by any Real Madrid footballers. Is it being saved for Gareth Bale? We shall find out very shortly.

Conveniently, Real Madrid has now shut down their online store “for maintenance” (see screenshot below).

  2. Gillian Rosh says:

I will be SO happy when this transfer saga is over.

  3. Rob Donnelly says:

If its true that Chelsea have hijacked the Willian deal, This deal could be in the balance. i don’t believe that spurs will sell Bale unless they get their top targets (Willian and Lamela)

as for Real Madrid, this is just another example of the classless way that they have conducted themselves all summer long.

    • COYx says:

What is so classless in RM conduct? Were Spurs any classier snatching players left and right across the globe?

      • Rob Donnelly says:

Have you heard of Spurs tapping up any of their targets through the media, encouraging them to put in transfer requests etc?

The way that Tottenham have behaved this summer has been impeccable. you my friend need to give your head a good shake.

        • Felix says:

It’s just how RM goes about. President Perez and RM has a rep for getting who they want. They snatched Ronaldo from Man U after Ferguson had said No! Modric after Levy told them to get lost.

And now Bale after they said they wanted him.

        • COYx says:

What about trying to get Willian from Shakhtar last season?

  4. Patrick says:

Anyone else hoping he doesn’t go to Madrid now simply because the way Madrid conduct business?

  5. He's Livid says:

Barca respresents Class where Madrid represents Crass. Bale is just not a good fit on that club – he is built for the Prem and it wouldn’t shock me if he ends up having an underwelming season production wise.

  6. Frill Artist says:

Lol. Dust must be fuming. Haven’t heard from him lately.

    • gbewing says:

why we’ve maximized our value on him, tonight we destroyed the Russian side 5-0 Townsend, Soldado, Rose all scoring- we’ve lost a great player but solidified our team for years to be contenders not lie some upper teams who just pocket the profit we put it back in the team

I know few Spurs fans who are crying about this, pleased with how we did it wishing Bale all the best hope he finds his place

  7. Dust says:

Apparently this deal has happened 6 times already, AVB just yesterday in his pre game press conference said there was NO deal for Bale.

I am just a football fan listening to the club, listening to the constant stream of “it’s done” and then it isn’t.

I had my head in .xib files all day…see the twitter picture, check the site and there is nothing on it, and that after looking at the CSS and Java script files for any left behind madness, and nothing.

    If it happens…it happens…
