NBC Sports Group has decided to move the Southampton versus Sunderland match, that was originally scheduled to air on Premier League Extra Time, to the 10am ET timeslot on NBC Sports Network this Saturday.

The match will feature two massive talking points, especially for the US audience. The first will be the second Premier League appearance by Jozy Altidore for Sunderland. And the second will be Southampton’s new signing Pablo Osvaldo, who signed for the Saints yesterday in a £12.8million deal.

By moving the match to the 10am ET timeslot on NBC Sports Network, NBC had to bump Newcastle United against West Ham United to Premier League Extra Time, the overflow channel.

Meanwhile, lead play-by-play voice Arlo White joins former Premier League star and four-time league champion Lee Dixon to call Aston Villa-Liverpool Saturday at 12:30 p.m. ET on NBC. White and Graeme Le Saux, the former Premier League star who played in 36 international matches for England, will call the Manchester United-Chelsea match at 3 p.m. ET on Monday.

All matches will be preceded and followed by Premier League Live pre- and post-match shows from the NBC Sports Group International Broadcast Center in Stamford, Conn. Rebecca Lowe hosts Premier League Live alongside former U.S. National Team midfielder Kyle Martino and former English footballer Robbie Mustoe.

All Premier League games will be streamed on NBC Sports Live Extra, NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices and tablets. Games airing on NBC Sports Network will be live streamed via “TV Everywhere,” the media industry’s effort to make quality content available to MVPD customers both in and out of the home and on multiple platforms.

To date, AT&T U-verse®, Bright House Networks, Cablevision’s Optimum, Comcast’s Xfinity TV, Cox, DIRECTV, Mediacom, Suddenlink, and Time Warner Cable have opted to carry the additional Premier League matches via the Premier League Extra Time package, and AT&T U-verse, Cablevision’s Optimum, Charter, Comcast’s Xfinity TV, Cox, DIRECTV, DISH, Suddenlink and Verizon FiOS will make all Premier League games available through TV Everywhere. Additionally, over 100 NCTC partners have either signed-on to the Premier League Extra Time package or have opted-in via TV Everywhere, including Blue Ridge Communications, Buckeye CableSystem, CenturyLink Prism, and RCN. In some cases, the Premier League Extra Time package will be available in select markets.

    1. Does it really matter? Just about everyone that is a fan of any club in the premier league can watch their respective club in HD on TV, or online. Might as well put the most attractive match for the casual fan on the most popular channels.

  1. Georgies and Hammers might not appreciate it but NBC is smart to finesse their schedule to respond to key developments, talking points, etc.

      1. Seriously. It’s so funny that viewers are giving a thumbs down to my point above and to Mr.Tuktoyaktuk’s because NBC would do what ESPN and FOX would do by showing the most intriguing match up of the weekend.

  2. I noticed a few things when using NBC LIVE Extra app. On Saturday Game- Southampton – No halftime or end game show. On Monday game had a halftime show and end of game show.

Anyone know if you should have a halftime show and end of game show for all games or?

    1. I would assume you only get the halftime show for matches that are also on NBCSN, since you are basically just using the App to watch what is on that channel. For matches that are on only the App and Extra Time, I don’t think you’ll get a halftime show

  3. Christ, sunderland? Those guys stunk the hell out of every match i was unfortunate enough to see them in. I thought they were relegated?

  4. They took the Man City and Cardiff match on Sunday to Premier League Extra Time also. But I would be glad to see this Southamption match. I’d like to see how Ricky Lambert plays and some of those youngsters people were talking about that got to play last Saturday.
