Andre Villas-Boas has revealed that he rejected interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid this summer in order to continue his mission at Tottenham Hotspur.

Henry Winter in The Daily Telegraph reports that one of the reasons why Villas-Boas is staying at Spurs was that it was his “first opportunity to start a second year in the same club”.

Villas-Boas added:

“I think that can give me an advantage and is something I want to try.

“I have been very welcomed. I have an excellent group of players and the conditions and structures we have at Tottenham are fantastic, and the arrival of Franco Baldini takes us to another level so these are things I had to measure.

“I have great respect for the club and for Daniel (Levy) and these are the reasons the couple of clubs that came knocking I told them that I wasn’t interested.’’

  1. Hey Gareth!

“I have great respect for the club and for Daniel (Levy) and these are the reasons the couple of clubs that came knocking I told them that I wasn’t interested.’’

    Take note!

    1. I thought that Bale was 100% committed according to you and almost every other apurs fan on here this was all paper talk. Coleman has come out saying that Bale is one the verge of a big move. Congrats on conning Madrid. If bale breaks Ronaldos transfer record he will be considered a failure if he doesnt match Ronaldos a goal a game record or even btter it. 201 goals in 200 Apps off the top of my head.

  2. NBC’s coverage seems to be resonating back in the old country too. Outstanding promotion.

Enjoyed the Independents timely retrospective on why the EPL came into existence. In hindsight, it’s almost laughable that they expected a better England team as a result.

    Enjoy the day everybody.
