Arsenal have taken Ligue 2 midfielder midfielder Alharbi El Jadeyaoui on trial, to give him the opportunity to catch manager Arsene Wenger’s eye.

El Jadeyaoui, 26, is a Moroccan international who plays for French Ligue 2 side Angers, and has played throughout France for several clubs. In 2009, he went on trial at Blackburn Rovers, but didn’t impress enough to secure a longer deal.

Angers general manager Olivier Pickeu told Ouest-France:

“For Alharbi, this is something else.

“We’re not in a negotiation phase yet.

“Arsenal have watched him many times, with Morocco as well. We thought it would be nice for him to spend time in England. It is rewarding for him and it is rewarding for us.”

Earlier this summer, Arsenal signed Ligue 2 striker Yaya Sanogo on a free transfer.
