Newcastle United have signed French striker Loic Remy on a season-long loan from Queens Park Rangers.

It marks an important signing for Newcastle United Director of Football Joe Kinnear, who has come under a lot of criticism from the Newcastle United faithful. Kinnear said today:

“The need for us to strengthen up front was a priority and I have been working very hard to secure one of our targets in this position.

“I’m delighted to have secured Loic for the season. Now we have him I’m sure he’ll be a huge success for us; I know he’s hungry for goals and is absolutely committed to helping us achieve success this season.”

Twenty-six year-old Remy scored six goals in 14 appearances for QPR last season after joining the London club from Marseille in the January transfer window.

Remy will partner Papiss Cisse up front for Newcastle in a very formidable attack.
