Today marks the release of Tampa Bay Rowdies: Trophies and Tradition, a mini-documentary that focuses on one of the great soccer legacies in North America.

Directed by Kartik Krishnaiyer and Joshua Tomlinson for World Soccer Talk, the 25-minute documentary takes a look at the history and current success of the Rowdies, and features interviews with club legend and Rowdies Technical Director Perry Van der Beck, Rowdies Head Coach Ricky Hill, Rowdies CEO Andrew Nestor, as well as members of Ralph’s Mob (the Tampa Bay Rowdies supporters club) in addition to local journalist Bryan Burns and Fort Lauderdale Strikers President Tom Mulroy.

The Rowdies have had a rich tradition in Florida since the club was founded in 1974. Most recently, the Rowdies won the 2012 NASL Championship to become the only team in history to win the title in both incarnations of the league.

Whether you’re a fan of US soccer, the history of the sport, the Rowdies or soccer in general, this is a revealing glimpse into a great American story.
