Liverpool Agree Loan Deal For Benfica Left Back Lorenzo Melgarejo

Lorenzo Melgarejo Liverpool Agree Loan Deal For Benfica Left Back Lorenzo Melgarejo

Liverpool Football Club have agreed a loan deal in principle with Benfica for defender Lorenzo Melgarejo, according to the Liverpool Echo newspaper.

The 22-year-old left back will move to Liverpool on a season-long loan pending approval of his work permit application. The Paraguayan looks set to play for Liverpool after the Reds have been chasing the signing of Valencia left back Aly Cissokho.

If Melgarejo is a hit on Merseyside, Liverpool have the option to sign the left back on a permanent deal reported to be £7million.

One Response to Liverpool Agree Loan Deal For Benfica Left Back Lorenzo Melgarejo

  1. Dominjon says:

He was a LB last season, and not a very good one, but prior to that he was a goal scoring winger, so we may well see him used more further forward.
