Is this Manchester United’s third shirt for the 2013-14 season?

Probably not, but there is substance to the rumor that Manchester United may be preparing to launch a new third shirt this summer that will be gold. According to the website Football Shirts, Nike’s official UK Twitter account said that United will have a new third this upcoming season, but that tweet was quickly deleted by Nike.

While the above pictured shirt looks like an Asian knock-off, a gold shirt for United makes sense to celebrate their 20th top flight title. Plus, United haven’t listed a third shirt on their official club shop website, so it’s possible that United may choose to launch a new shirt instead of making last season’s away shirt this season’s third jersey.

  1. Nope, United always has to have a white kit option (which would be last season’s) this would be the champions league training kit.

  2. That gold one looks like a poor knockoff of the 2002 centenary third kit

It would be a shame if last year’s beautiful white kit was a one-and-done. But a lot of clubs appear to be playing in that design this year, so perhaps it is on its way out. Shame.

  3. Infact the shirt is okey because it’s only champions can use anything gold and again is better than the black one now
