USA vs Panama, 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup Final: Open Thread

2013 gold cup 600x353 USA vs Panama, 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup Final: Open Thread

Today’s broadcast of the match between USA and Panama in the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup final will begin at 3:30pm ET on FOX, the free-to-air over the air network, for viewers in the United States. Kick-off time is 4pm ET.

The final match will be played at Soldier Field in Chicago in front of a capacity crowd to determine who will be crowned 2013 CONCACAF champions. The US men’s national team, without the suspended Jurgen Klinsmann, are undefeated in this tournament and are, by far, the favorites to win the tournament. However, do not count out Panama who are a rising force in the region

    I’m seeing a lot of empty seats…..:(

  2. Ivan says:

It isn’t pretty to watch, but Panama is defending very well, playing to their potential and making it very difficult on the US (EJ, Donovan) to find space and create chances…

  3. Pete Q says:

Roman Torres just made two incredible defensive plays…wow.

  4. Smokey Bacon says:

No trophy presentation then. Nice one Fox. That post game show was amateurish beyond belief.

    • Huw Roma says:

Truly pathetic. Too hard for them to hang around for the trophy presentation on Fox because they have to show a AAA benefits show. Now its on FSC. Useless as ever.

    • Christopher Harris says:

I’m not in front of my TV, but the trophy presentation was shown on FOX Soccer, I believe.

      • Smokey Bacon says:

This is why soccer will never work on network TV in the States. Why go to the trouble of a network broadcast when you can’t be bothered to show the winners lift the cup on the same channel.

They will do the same when they get the World Cup, mark my words. Clowns.

GUS, GUS he’s our man he know squat and that’s our plan!!!

Wynalda, Wynalda he’s our man repeats the same thing 50 million times cause he’s a former player and knows all plans!!

    Thanks goodness for Univision!!!

  6. Yespage says:

Kind of an anti-climatic game. The Panama team that beat Mexico didn’t seem to show up. Panama looked to be playing for a 0-0 draw in league play. Makes the US win seem a little empty.
