Manchester United will not sell Wayne Rooney even if the club signs Cesc Fabregas or a new striker. That’s according to a new report tonight in The Guardian newspaper.

If true, the situation with Rooney is troubling. He’s stuck between a rock and a hard place with United unwilling to sell him, while Rooney obviously is disinterested in playing for United. And even if he does, he’s completely lost the support and trust from the Manchester United supporters. Seemingly, the only way out of this purgatory is for Chelsea to come in with a monster bid for Rooney that would hopefully convince United to part with their prized asset.

The article adds that United are waiting until after July 31 when Marouane Fellaini’s buy-out clause expires before deciding whether to approach Everton to sign the player.
