Puma and Newcastle have added a thin blue stripe to the black stripe presumably to complement the colors in both the Newcastle United club crest but also the controversial shirt sponsor logo that has caused Papiss Cisse to refuse to wear the shirt.

Other neat features of Newcastle United’s home shirt for the new season include the racing stripe on the front of the unique v-neck collar as well as the gold Puma logo and blue trim along the side of the shirt and on the hem of the sleeves.
