The Premier League has changed a lot in the 21 years since the league launched in 1992. On the pitch, the quality and type of football has changed dramatically. But it’s also changed a lot on-screen.

Take a look at the following video footage of the very first Sky Sports Premier League broadcast from 1992. The episode of Ford Super Sunday features Richard Keys, clad in a very yellow 90s style suit.

And what was the first match they featured? The then-mighty Nottingham Forest against Liverpool. How times have changed.

Feel free to post your observations about the video in the comments section below.

I was living in Shepherd’s Bush then… Flatmates would never agree to get any TV package, where disgusted that this wasn’t covered in the TV tax,… This as they sat in the lounge all day smoking sliffs, drinking PG Tips and using their dole money betting horses via the text chn…. They where Tottenham supporters in name only, Odd since we lived in the shadow of loftus road… Thus I spent my Sunday afternoons in the what we called the Sky Pub. Where I learned to love the Irons…

  3. Taylor says:

I didn’t expect Forest to be that bad that season. The finished 8th the previous season and despite selling Walker and Sheringham, they still had Keane, Clough, Charles and Psycho. I actually thought Oldham (besides Boro and Palace) to go down before the beginning of the season.
Didn’t expect Leeds to be that horrible either.

weekend will never be the same again

  5. Cantona says:

Damn I miss Richard Keys and Andy Gray

Looking forward to seeing them back on Al Jazeera
