BBC’s Match of The Day is one of the most famous soccer TV shows on the globe. The weekly highlights show on British television is renowned for its iconic opening with a familiar opening tune. But bizarrely, during the height of the acid-house craze in England in the early 90s, BBC premiered a new version of the opening to Match Of The Day that was completely remixed and different.

No wonder it wasn’t used again after this one appearance:

    I had to go listen to the original MOTD opening music and it sure does bring back some memories having not heard it in 17+ years.
