Pep Guardiola has signed one of his young stars from Barcelona in a £21.6million four-year deal that’ll see Thiago Alcantara move to Bayern Munich instead of Manchester United.

Thiago, 22, was one of the stars of the Spain u-21 side this summer. The highly rated midfielder will join up with Guardiola later this week.

  1. Kagawa26 says:

This is why Moyes is a jackass. He didnt want to pay that much for a player that hasnt played in the prem. If hes good enough for bayern then he should be good enough for us.

    • Dorian Speed says:

      From: Monday, July 15, 2013
      To: Saturday, August 17, 2013

      Result: 33 days

      Or 1 month, 2 days

      2,851,200 seconds
      47,520 minutes
      792 hours

      … Tick-tock. Tick-tock…

    • Dust says:

How do you know that is the reason? What are you basing that off? His previous signings? Like Fellani?

You have a source? Moyes biggest problem isn’t players or tactics….it’s MUFC fans.

      • Kagawa26 says:

Thatsbthe eeason the deal was held up. Theres thisbtax in spain called VAT and Moyes didnt want to pay it. He wants to Evertonise Man utd with Baines and Fellaini. Baines is not worth 16 million and why spend that much on him when hes 29 and you can get Coentrao from Real for 18 mil. His biggest problem is he should have lockedup the deal.

    • Chris S says:

Player wants to join old bass at best team in Europe and is a ‘jackass’. Man Utd fans truly are the most fickle on the planet.

      • Kagawa26 says:

You dont know anything about the club or the saga. Moyes had Thiago and didnt want to pay the VAT because it was to expensive yet he would pay 16 million for Bale.

  2. Jon Tsang says:

I think Thiago stalled the potential United move because he clearly wanted a reunion with Pep. Hard to see where he fits at Bayern, but I do see him getting more games than some might think, given that he was handpicked by Pep.

  3. Steve says:

This is a good signing for Bayern but bad for the Bundesliga. At the moment I can’t see anyone other than BM for the title and they could win it even earlier than last season.

  4. Efrain says:

Shame he couldn’t wait till Xavi or Iniesta moved on. Great player, big loss for Barca.

  5. Sacto Blues says:

I don’t understand this move for Thiago if he ( Thiago ) wants more playing time ? I understand he wants to play for Pep but I see Thiago struggling for minutes behind Goetze.

  6. Neymar fan says:

This is a great acquisition by Bayern Munich. If the club was already a powerhouse, I feel sorry for the opponents it will face this coming season, whether in the Bundesliga, Champions League, or elsewhere. Pep will not only find a place for him but will utilize him effectively, so fear not, Bayern Munich fans!
