Swansea City have signed Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey on a four-year deal for a transfer fee of £5million.

The 21-year-old midfielder is Swansea’s fifth major signing of the summer, and the England international will now join the club on their preseason tour in the Netherlands.

“The fee for Shelvey also includes potential add-ons on top of the transfer fee,” said a statement on Swansea’s club website.

Shelvey is Swansea’s fifth signing this week after Spaniards Jordi Amat, Jose Canas and Alejandro Pozuelo joined the club, as well as the season-long loan deal for Jonathan de Guzman.
