Liverpool Midfielder Jonjo Shelvey Joins Swansea City for £5million

Swansea City have signed Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey on a four-year deal for a transfer fee of £5million.

The 21-year-old midfielder is Swansea’s fifth major signing of the summer, and the England international will now join the club on their preseason tour in the Netherlands.

“The fee for Shelvey also includes potential add-ons on top of the transfer fee,” said a statement on Swansea’s club website.

Shelvey is Swansea’s fifth signing this week after Spaniards Jordi Amat, Jose Canas and Alejandro Pozuelo joined the club, as well as the season-long loan deal for Jonathan de Guzman.

What are your thoughts about Shelvey joining the Swans? Is it a good move, and do you think Shelvey will be able to deliver the goods to improve as a professional footballer? Share your opinions in the comments section below.

      1. Yep. We seemed to be strongly linked with him. I just think they’re getting their own back for the welsh £15m crab 😉

    1. LOL…he is horrid, hugely overrated…surprised swansea went for him…but at 5m…Brendan works with him for a year and decides he cant make him better..laudrup thinks the opposite

  1. Because Swans need some English guys and if you’re going to gamble at least gamble on a kid with talent even if it didn’t work out for him with Liverpool.

Now let’s hope they get something done with Ince.
