Google Reader will shut down on Monday and will no longer be available ever again. For many of you, myself included, Google’s RSS reader has been practically a life saver (well, at least a huge time saver). But now that Google is shutting down the service, here are a few alternatives in order to make sure you don’t miss a single article from World Soccer Talk:

1. You can subscribe to a free daily e-mail update via Feedburner. This way, you’ll get an e-mail recapping the previous day’s articles.

2. Use a different RSS reader. There are alternatives such as The Old ReaderDigg Reader, Feedly, Bloglines, NewsBlur, Netvibes, Pulse, FeedReader and more.  Some of the RSS readers mentioned even have ‘Import to Google Reader’ options.

3. Subscribe via your Kindle. Amazon’s book reading device also allows you to subscribe to popular blogs. There’s a free 14-day trial. And if you like what you see, the price is $0.99 per month. It’s listed as EPL Talk, but all of the articles you’ll receive are from World Soccer Talk on Amazon.

Don’t forget that the two World Soccer Talk RSS feeds you’ll need are:

1) the World Soccer Talk blog — http:\/\/feeds.feedburner.com/EPLTalk

2) the EPL Talk Podcast from World Soccer Talk — http:\/\/feeds.feedburner.com/EPLTalkpodcast

If you’re not ready to make a decision regarding which above method to use, be sure to export your Google Reader subscriptions before Sunday night.

And if you find a suitable RSS reader alternative to Google Reader, let us know in the comments section below. I’m still looking for one that’s as good and robust as Google Reader!
