Manchester City have officially announced that winger Jesus Navas is their latest new signing.

It’s been approximately twelve days since Sevilla and City agreed a deal for Navas, but the finishing touches to the paperwork were delayed due to Navas being on tour in the United States with the Spanish national team for two friendlies prior to the Confederations Cup later this week.

But Navas was able to pass his medical in the United States allowing City to finalize the deal.

The 27-year-old winger has won 23 caps with Spain, and has made 393 appearances for Sevilla. Navas is pictured below with New York City FC Director of Football Claudio Reyna:

EPL Talk’s Kartik Krishnaiyer and I had a chance to watch Jesus Navas in person this past weekend in the friendly between Spain and Haiti in Miami. While it’s just one game, Navas was not impressive at all and was unable to dribble past the Haiti left back.

In the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons at Sevilla, Navas was my favorite player to watch in La Liga when he bombed down the wings for the Spanish club side. He was the type of game changer that was incredible to watch. But whether he can regain that form, we’ll have to wait and see.

Manchester City’s transfer fee they paid to sign Jesus Navas is believed to be around £15 million.
