New Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has released seven players from Stoke City including notable names such as Jermaine Pennant, Rory Delap, Dean Whitehead, Mamady Sidibe, Matthew Upson and Carlo Nash.

On top of that, Stoke City have announced that six members of the club’s coaching staff have left the club including QPR legend Gerry Francis.

Hughes is expected to bring in his own coaching staff, which will likely include his right-hand man Mark Bowen.

What are your thoughts about the Stoke footballers being released? Should any of them been given another chance to shine at the club? Was releasing Jermaine Pennant a harsh decision given his potential? Have your say in the comments section below.
