Roberto Martinez has been appointed as manager of Everton Football Club on a four-year deal to replace David Moyes at Goodison Park.

“Everton Football Club is today delighted to confirm the appointment of Roberto Martinez as its next manager,” said a statement by Everton FC. “The 39-year-old Spaniard joins from Wigan Athletic and has signed a four-year contract at Goodison Park.

“Martinez will be officially unveiled as the Club’s 14th permanent manager at a media conference on Wednesday afternoon.”

Martinez announced that he would be leaving Wigan in late May after winning the FA Cup for the side.

With the appointment of Martinez as manager at Everton, that means that this summer’s International Champions Cup tournament will feature new Everton boss Roberto Martinez as well as new Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.
