Stoke City manager Tony Pulis is set to leave the club, according to a report by The Telegraph.

Pulis has been manager at Stoke City since 2006, but the club’s supporters have become very disillusioned with the manager after a below-par season where the team seems stuck in their ways.

Telegraph reporter John Percy said today that Pulis is set to leave the club. However, the club hasn’t officially made any announcement.

It’s understood that Pulis has agreed to leave Stoke City by mutual consent after meeting with Stoke chairman Peter Coates this morning.

Since 2006-2007, Stoke City have spent at least £80 million in transfer fees, the seventh highest amount in the Premier League — and only £8 million less than Manchester United. However, Stoke City has little to show for it. Pulis’s success in the transfer market has been woeful with several flops, wasting a ton of the club’s money.

Now that Pulis is leaving the club, who do you think should manage Stoke City? And based on your recommendation for the new manager, do you think the club should change its playing style? And if so, how is the club going to do that with so many footballers used to playing a certain way? Tell us in the comments section below.
