Liverpool Are Lining Up A Move For Manchester City Defender Kolo Toure: The Nightly EPL

Liverpool are understood to be lining up a move for Manchester City defender Kolo Toure, who is currently in New York City after arriving for the club’s US post-season tour.

Manager Brendan Rodgers is looking for replacements to fill in the gap left by retired centre-back Jamie Carragher. Toure is out of contract at City this summer, and is unlikely to be offered a new deal, so it offers Liverpool a unique opportunity to step in for an experienced 32-year old defender who could provide cover for Liverpool at the back.

What do you think? Should Liverpool offer Kolo Toure a contract? Or, should the Reds be looking at younger targets? And, if so, who? Tell us your opinion in the comments section below.

  1. This must be a joke. Kolo is way past his prime and has lost so much pace that he is a liability as a defender. Whatever happened to Liverpool’s youth policy? I know he is on a free but it doesn’t make sense for Liverpool.

  2. Wouldnt be a bad signing… He will obviously be on less money then carra was on… And has greay experience and cost nothing… As all true liverpoolfans knpw we dnt have that much money so getting i. Aa few players for free isnt a bad thing

  3. You can never have too many defenders, actually you probably can, with Kelly coming back, Wisdom, Coates, and even Skrtel fighting for places, I tend to agree with David.
