Incoming Manchester United chief Edward Woodward says that there’s no need for lots of new signings and that the club has incredible depth.

“We have a young squad, each now a year older. We’re very comfortable with the make-up of team and squad.

“There’s incredible depth. We could put two first teams out with 11 internationals in each.

“I wouldn’t expect there to be a major retooling of the squad.”

While Woodward’s words may satisfy The Glazers, many Manchester United supporters believe that the club is in need of a major overhaul in the summer to strengthen the midfield, bring in another world-class striker and to boost an aging defense especially if the club is serious about mounting a challenge to win the UEFA Champions League. And, if reported, to fight Chelsea in a closer Premier League title race with Jose Mourinho scheduled to join Chelsea in July.

What do you think? Do you predict Manchester United will spend little this summer and rely on their depth, or are Woodward’s quotes meant to manage the expectations of Manchester United supporters by making sure they don’t expect too many signings, as well as trying not to inflate transfer prices?
