Stoke City will face Houston Dynamo in their first match of their 2013 US summer tour, the club announced today.

The exhibition match between Stoke and Houston will be played on July 24, just two days after the Potters arrive Stateside from England. The match will be for the annual BBVA Compass Dynamo Charities Cup. In previous years, Houston has played Bolton and Valencia in the cup competition, among other teams.

“The tour to the United States was extremely successful last year, first and foremost in achieving our primary objective of helping to prepare the squad for the season ahead,” said Stoke City Chief Executive Tony Scholes. “The transfers of Geoff Cameron and Brek Shea subsequently presented opportunities for us to play matches against their former clubs which is where we will be heading.”

In addition to Stoke’s game against Houston, Stoke City will play FC Dallas on July 27.

Tickets to the Houston match are available now and can be purchased here or by calling (713) 276-GOAL. Seats can also be purchased through the Forever Orange 15-Pack (starting at $300), which includes tickets to the July 24 game vs. Stoke City, all 12 remaining MLS regular season games and two CONCACAF Champions League matches.
