After Manchester City’s shock loss against Tottenham Hotspur yesterday, Manchester United will win the 2012-13 Premier League title today if they beat Aston Villa at Old Trafford.

Or, if Aston Villa wins today, it’ll mean that Reading and Queens Park Rangers will officially be relegated.

No matter what happens today, you have two clubs facing each other — each with their own priorities. A win for Villa will lift them six points away from the relegation zone. Manchester United, meanwhile, are keeping their eye on trying to break the Premier League record for the most number of points achieved in a single season by Chelsea with 95. United, sitting on 81 points, have five matches remaining and an opportunity to finish the season on as high as 96 points if they win all of their remaining matches.

If United wins, they’ll lift the trophy on Sunday, May 12 when they play Swansea City at Old Trafford.

The biggest question about the team news today will be whether Wayne Rooney gets a start for United or not, especially after being substituted against West Ham United for, by his standards, a sub-par performance.
