Released in July 1995, the graphics and gameplay in FIFA 96 are certainly quite different than what we’re used to in more modern-day FIFA video games.

The game was the first to feature 3D graphics with FIFA’s technology called “Virtual Stadium.” As you can see in this 25 minute video which features voiceovers explaining the different features and differences, the game was revolutionary at the time. For example, it was the first FIFA game in the series to present players with real player names and positions. This was also the first FIFA game to feature a proper introduction.
