i said front and center fellow football fans.HAPPY NEW YEAR to all.Baggies 3 Fulham 1!

    • Guy says:

You’re up early for this one? You are a glutton for punishment! :-)

      • jtm371 says:

yes it is a sickness.i would like to go out now and celebrate the New Year and get revenge on my neighbors.Thought WBA would be better but Fulham is much fresher at the start.

  2. IanCransonsKnees says:

Starting the new year as I mean to go on, painting the f&%+ing bathroom. Rock n roll lifestyle here in the Potteries.

Tough one today, it should see our unbeaten run ended. We could park 3 buses at Eastlands and we’d still get hammered. One of our bogey grounds – so, as ever (it’ll be me EPLTalk catchphrase now), I’ll take the draw.

HNY to everyone who doesn’t thumbs down my posts, hopefully it’ll be GTFI at 5pm tonight.

Guy – have you seen SoCal Stoker’s post on The Oatcake. He got over for the Southampton match, his first ever visit to the Brit. Not a bad game to get to considering our penchant for a 0-0 draw.

    • Guy says:

      Didn’t. I’ll check. Thanks.

    • jtm371 says:

you can not start the new year with such a defeatist attitude.your boys have their defense back together.i might be up early but painting on New Years it must of been a real bender last night.

      • IanCransonsKnees says:

I class NYE as ‘amateur night’, there’s too many lightweights for my liking, and the 5 pubs that are in spitting distance of me end up getting rammed with muppets who you never see otherwise.

Painting is preferable to a hangover gained in frustrating circumstances.

  3. The Gaffer says:

How was Lukaku’s goal not ruled offside?

Another observation: When Berbatov scored, no one ran with him to celebrate, so he had to turn back to join the rest of the Fulham players celebrating on touch line.

    The Gaffer

  4. IanCransonsKnees says:

West Midlands Police have just tweeted that a couple of Baggies fans have turned up thinking it’s a 3pm KO. Thick yam yam muppets .

  5. IanCransonsKnees says:

An update here for anyone concerned about Jack Cork’s condition after Steven Nzonzi didn’t injure him on Saturday. Apparently it’s still touch and go.

West Brom are dropping off if they get beat by Fulham at home.

  6. jtm371 says:

congrats to Fulham a well deserved away win much the better side.WBA better snap out of the malaise or the slide down will continue.

  7. Guy says:

Can only get the Stoke match in spanish. Oh, well, they make it sound exciting!

    Viva el Potters!!

  8. Guy says:

Uh oh. Dust won’t be talking for a while.

  9. Frill Artist says:

Evra seems to always be in the boz these days.

  10. Frill Artist says:

  11. IanCransonsKnees says:

I’ll take that first half, hopefully the goal will force Pulis to take action rather than sit and consolidate.

Guy, are you getting into the January transfer thread on The Oatcake? These things become epic, the summer one ends up with 1m+ views.

    • Guy says:

I’ve taken a look, but I don’t think the Jan. window ever really changes things (Cisse to Newcastle the exception), so don’t think about it much. I let everyone else go crazy. ;-)

  12. jtm371 says:

well you know your boys they were never in the match if not for Begovic might have been 5 or 6 nil.

  13. jtm371 says:

shocker of the day Villa up 2/1 over the Swans at the Liberty.

  14. Guy says:

Without replay can’t be sure, but I don’t think Nzonzi fouled in the box, but clumsy just the same. Wouldn’t change the match, but our GD has been taking a beating lately.

  15. Todd says:

Late drama for Swansea! Must feel bad for Aston Villa though.

  16. IanCransonsKnees says:

    Well done Danny Graham.

Eastlands is probably the easiest away ground for me to get to, roughly £35 to get there and get in. Manchester’s a fantastic city that I always enjoy visiting. I stopped home, did some decorating and cleaned the cars. It is obligatory that we lose 3-0 there, Pulis goes into this match already defeated every season.

No surprise for me, need to get back on the horse at Palace on Saturday.

  17. The Gaffer says:

Swansea should have been 3-0 or 4-0 in the lead by half-time after wasting so many good chances to score. Good comeback by Villa, but Swansea should have won this one easily.

    The Gaffer

  18. IanCransonsKnees says:

Just seen the Forest score JTM, McLeish out?

  19. Dust says:

Pleased we won… Not happy with the conversion of shots to goals.

30 shots 20 on target and only 3 goals, the game killer was dempseywas deflection. We need a more clinical finisher. We completely dominated but only 3 goals is not good enough, need to put these teams away by a lot or what is the point in creating that many chances?

    • jtm371 says:

happy New Year so will this new posting direction continue until a loss happens.not nearly as much fun as before but your side is on a good about McLeast era at Forest?

      • dust says:

Nah, Just been pre occupied with last time was superstition this time was lack of battery in iOS devices meaning 1 device to watch foxsocer2go on.

Sorry about AM, it will take a few games before you can really pile it on I think, but certainly not a good start for forrest. Cloughie really was a legendary manager, I would love to see forrest in the Prem. I think the owners will use AM to get them there and then he is done, when in the prem they will splash the cash!

        C’mon Southampton!

      • dust says:

Oh did you see my Spurs 11 since 1980 I posted on the daily epl post yesterday?

        • jtm371 says:

no i will go look it up and let you know about your picks.

          • jtm371 says:

i will differ to you on all things Spurs but Leadly King in starting XI and Lineker and Ginola on the bench.not sure who i would take off the bench but i think i would find room for Teddy he could finish in big games not just against minnows.the only thing you left out who would be the Gaffer.thanks for the effort and time to post it.

  20. Jason says:

Spurs keep winning quietly. AVB is pushing the right buttons right now. The race for 3rd and 4th is going to be very interesting.

Gotta feel for Villa. Almost got the 3 points but I’m sure if you gave them a point before the game started they would have taken it.

Good win for the Hammers. They finally stop the rut. Will give them some needed confidence for their FA Cup clash with united who are flying high at the moment.

  21. dust says:

What the Hell happened to Stoke today? I thought you might get a draw!
Is it the Christmas fixture list taking its toll, with the quality athletes at the bigger clubs really showing their advantage?

    It must be…

espn3 is sucking right now and delayed too!

    • IanCransonsKnees says:

No surprise Dust. Out of the past 5 seasons the result has been 2-0, 3-0, 3-0, 3-0, 3-0 at the Etihad. The most predictable result of the day, Pulis considers this game lost before we kick off.

    • Guy says:

Last year Stoke were 8th after 19 matches and then swooned to finish 14th. Hoping for better than that this year, but maybe listening to TP all the time wears you down eventually. ;-)

    • dust says:

I had High hopes for the stoke result after your recent run of form. a shame really

  22. jtm371 says:

i posted my thoughts on your XI.i meant defer not differ still tring to handle Forest losing 3 nil to a side with no gaffer and owned by a chicken farmer.

  23. jtm371 says:

Saints 1 nil way to go finish it out.

  24. jtm371 says:

somebody brought it up yesterday about EPLTALK and might be in line for a big payday Profootballtalk cashed in with NBC and their NFL coverage.if it happens great for you and all your hard work hope the site will not change much with network influence.

  25. Guy says:

Saints just robbed. Bad offsides call.

  26. dust says:

The Delay on ESPN is a joke its 5 mins behind, twitter more useful than the broadcast #sad

    • jtm371 says:

did you see my post on your XI?

      • Dust says:

        I don’t see the post.

        • jtm371 says:

i posted on this page where you asked if i saw it.i think Leadly King in the starting XI is a stretch and somehow Lineker and Ginola has to find the pitch.someway Teddy has to find the bench he scored big goals and not against minnows.only other question who is your Gaffer?thanks for your time and effort to my question.i will defer to you on all things Spurs.

  27. Jack Tomczuk says:

We need a goal; and Wenger puts on Gervinho and Ramsey for Oxlade-Chamberlain and Cazorla. It’s almost like he has these substitutions pre-planned no matter what the situation.

    • jtm371 says:

could not agree more tie match and you take off the OX and Cazola does not make sense but then i am not Le Professor.

  28. Jason says: had some problems today probably because so many people were watching their streams. The City vs Stoke and Southampton vs Arsenal games were on TV on ESPN Deportes (Spanish commentary but good picture). If you like Dutch soccer you should get ESPND.
