How Arsene Wenger Let a 16-Year-Old Zlatan Ibrahimovic Slip Through His Fingers: The Daily EPL
The list of players that Arsene Wenger had a chance to sign over the years has included Cristiano Ronaldo and Didier Drogba, as well as many more. But another footballer that Arsenal had a chance to sign was a 16-year-old Zlatan Ibrahimovic who left the club because the Swede refused to play in a trial. Wenger’s stubborn policy of wanting footballers to play a trial resulted in the incredible footballer leaving Arsenal and heading to continental Europe instead.

This is a daft and very little thought out article. Probably why there is no comments. What manager will give a 16year old that you have never seen play a contract- especially on the recommendation of some guy.
It wasn’t as tho he played the trial and he wasn’t chosen. He refused to play a trial at all. What kind of arrogant 16 year old is that should be the logical question.
Just cos he scored one good goal suddenly people missed out on him… Considering the players Arsenal have had in the meantime I don’t think they missed out on much. He’s still over arrogant and inconsistent.
And Arsenal couldn’t have used him at all over the past 7 (trophy free) years?
PLEASE.
Idiotic..
Ibrahimović is 31. Do you really think that he would have stayed at Arsenal for 15 years? The longest time he has stayed at one club is 3 years.
He would of been great for Arsenal if he had played alongside Henry…Too bad it never happend.
thankfully we had a better player playing alongside henry. Bergkamp the non flying dutchman
Yeah and of course by now he would have already left Arsenal to go elsewhere like all it’s other big stars. Maybe he would have at least gone to another league instead of a rival like a certain someone.
