At the youthful age of just 20-years old, Thomas Ince is on the verge of becoming something most footballers can only dream of. According to numerous sources, the Blackpool winger is heavily linked with a sensational transfer to Manchester United when the transfer window opens in January.

Tom Ince could follow in the footsteps of his father, former Manchester United and England footballer Paul Ince. Depending on whether the two sides can agree a fee, Ince could be lining up next year to the likes of Wayne Rooney and Paul Scholes in matter.

With Manchester United suffering from a long list of injuries, which include both wingers Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young, manager Sir Alex Ferguson has had to make considerable changes to his line-ups in order to field a winning team. Manchester United is, at the moment, putting its faith in Portuguese winger Nani, a very inconsistent player who is being linked with a move away from Old Trafford in January.

If Tom Ince does become a Manchester United player, the club will have invested in a young, talented footballer who still has time to improved his game. ‘The Seasiders’ winger has been impressive for Blackpool and has become a key player in their Championship campaign, playing 41 games for the club last season. What is more impressive is his accomplishments this season having scored six goals in seven games in all competitions for The Tangerines.

Whilst the young prodigy will face tough competition at Old Trafford, it will only take one of the Red Devil’s wingers to become injured and Ince will have his chance to impress. Many critics may suggest that he isn’t good enough for the club, although the same could of been said for Nick Powell, and whilst he hasn’t had a real chance at the Old Trafford yet, he did manage to score on his debut to silence the doubters.

Ince will no doubt be a back-up for Manchester United, but will learn knowledge by playing with experienced members of the squad, as well as training with the very best and being guided by one of the greatest managers in the game.

Sir Alex Ferguson isn’t going to be at the club forever, and has shown he is considering his successors interest and the future of the club by bringing in young, talented players. In the next three-years, Patrice Evra, Rio Ferdinand, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs will likely have retired and despite this bombshell for United, Fergie has already started to replace these players.

The addition of Alexander Buttner, Nick Powell, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Shinji Kagawa are all the future of the club and Ferguson is incorporating these players into the first team as much as possible. Add these to the likes of Danny Welbeck, Rafael da Silva, David De Gea and Javier Hernandez, and Manchester United almost have a team set for the next five years. The only position that does need improving, is the Manchester United wing, a spot that is almost destined for Thomas Ince.
