While the star signings that Queens Park Rangers made in the summer transfer window have gotten most of the limelight, here are three players from the Super Hoops that deserve recognition and that football supporters should keep a close eye on.

Jamie Mackie

Last season Jamie Mackie was a key part of Queens Park Rangers’ season, but this season he will shine.

He started to pick up his better form in the latter part of last season, and hopefully he will carry on the form this season. All the regulars at QPR know how much effort and passion Mackie puts into every game home and away, week-in and week-out. He puts his heart into every challenge. He takes on players and is clinical in front of goal. Last season he scored some vital goals against Liverpool. When QPR was 2-0 down, QPR managed to score three in the space of 12 minutes. Mackie scored the winner in stoppage time.

The season before last, when QPR was promoted into the Premier League, Mackie was hit with a double fracture in his leg in an FA Cup tie against Blackburn. He came back a few games into the season and instantly regained his form. He scored 8 goals in the opening seven games in the Championship.

If the whole QPR team plays with the amount of passion and effort that Mackie puts in, then the club will have no problem getting a comfortable mid-table finish. Mackie will be vital this season.

Junior Hoilett

Playing on the opposite side of Mackie, the young Canadian will be influential this season. He’s already proven in the first two games of the season that he has pace in abundance and that he can cut inside on his right foot and shoot or cross it to either Zamora or Cisse. In the game against Norwich, he got past a player and fed in Cisse, who was fouled in the area and awarded a penalty. In the first game against Swansea he had a couple of chances to pull level in the first half. The first one was a piece of brilliance, which would have been a wonder goal. He faked a cross, got past a defender and cut into the box on his right foot. The crowd was expecting him to feed Cisse but instead he tried to curl it in and it just skimmed the post. If he carries on producing pieces like that, he’s in for a fantastic season and will definitely soon become a fan favorite.

Alejandro Faurlin

Alejandro Faurlin is a star in the making at Loftus Road. He tackles well, and nearly always comes out with the ball. His passing is immaculate and he can shoot from range. He is QPR’s second choice free kick taker behind Adel Taarabt. I believe Faurlin will shine this season and will play an influential role in both defense and attack.
