Andre Villas-Boas Convinced Harry Kane is Up to Leading Spurs Attack: The Daily EPL

tottenham hotspur1 Andre Villas Boas Convinced Harry Kane is Up to Leading Spurs Attack: The Daily EPL

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas says that youngster Harry Kane is up to leading the Spurs attack. Unless you’re a die-hard Tottenham supporter, or if you watched Tottenham’s matches on their US summer tour, you may not be familiar with Kane. The Englishman was one of the bright spots on England’s u-19 side in this summer’s European Championship. The 19-year-old Tottenham product has had loan spells with Leyton Orient and Millwall, but he hasn’t been able to crack the first side… until perhaps now. He certainly looks a star in the making, but whether he’s ready to make a splash in the Premier League, we’ll have to wait and see.

Meanwhile, here are the latest Premier League news headlines:

The Daily EPL is your morning guide to the latest Premier League news headlines, so you don’t have to spend an hour or more scanning the Internet. We do all the work for you. Read The Daily EPL on EPL Talk every morning to stay on top of all the news that matters.

  1. wylie says:

Kane is a Lilywhite legend in the making. Class act.

  2. Dust says:

Good to see AVB willing to give this English striker a chance, perhaps even the wonder kid from the ivory coast too! Love the youth policy, this season needs to start now!

  3. Richie says:

Much as I like the confidence that AVB is giving to Kane and that he wants to bring youth into first team action (HK did the same in the UEFA cup) We MUST buy a quality striker or it will be a very slippery slope for us. Defoe is looking sharp but he needs someone like Llorente to feed off. Bring back the Glory days of Defoe, Keane and Berbatov and we will definitely be top 4 again this season.

  4. learn to live with it or follow another team

  5. Matthew says:

I completely agree, I think Kane has shown is ready for the tast ahead of him. Plus, I support the using of young English players at Spurs, good for AVB.

  6. Adam says:

Don’t expect Kane to score a load of goals for you, he’s more a striker in the Sherringham mold playing off someone else.
