Liverpool has accepted an offer from Fiorentina for Alberto Aquilani. There’s no official confirmation from Liverpool yet, and personal terms would still have to be agreed, but it appears that Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has a chance to offload the Italian midfielder. Yet, at the same time, Rodgers has stated how he’d like to give Aquilani a chance to shine on the Liverpool squad this season. We’ll have to wait and see what happens.

Aquilani played well in yet another pre-season. It’s a shame Liverpool fans will never see the Italian do what he does best. Exquisite passing and link-play, two things the club desperately needs.
I expect that there might be more news concerning Liverpool transfers between now and Thursday when they open their Europa League campaign. Players who feature in the Europa League for Liverpool will not be able to play for another club in Europe. We should get some idea of who Rodgers may be moving based on his squad selections for the two qualifiers on the 2nd and 9th August.
BBC Sport reporting that Liverpool have agreed to loan Andy Carroll to West Ham for 2 million with a permanent transfer fee of 17 million if West Ham stay up.
I’m surprised Carroll agreed to the move since he wanted European football but when you consider that his friend Kevin Nolan is at West Ham and that his agent is reputedly friends with fat Sam it makes sense. Don’t discount the London nightlife too.
I can’t believe GM is able to do such a crazy sponsorship deal with ManU since they still haven’t paid back the bailout money yet and that the US gov is still 70% share holders of Ally bank which used to be GMAC when part of GM.
