Premier League News Links: Park Ji-Sung Agrees Move to Queens Park Rangers

Today’s confirmation that Park Ji-Sung has agreed a move from Manchester United to Queens Park Rangers is brilliant news for QPR fans, but very concerning news for United supporters. This is a footballer who often was Manchester United’s trump card — the player that Sir Alex Ferguson used in big matches to either grab a goal, get an assist or dominate midfield.

While I’ll be sad to see him leave United, I’m looking forward to seeing him have more playing time at QPR.

  1. Sure SAF used him in some big games and he scored some big goals for us but dominate the midfield area I don’t think so, his limited ability was badly exposed last season when he played. Best of luck to him at QPR though.

    1. Park usually took some games to get up to speed. It’s funny that SAF used him mostly as a defensive winger but at PSV he tore AC Milan’s defence as an attacking winger who cut in and for Korea he played in the hole between striker and midfield. He had technical ability, but the way he was used last year, he played poorly like the rest of the squad. The real shame of it is, that if he wasn’t Asian, he would be regarded higher than he is. As is, he was seen and still seen as a marketing ploy rather than being at United on merit.

A really under rated player. QPR have made a coup as he was at the tail end of his career at United (wrong side of 30 and his lungs won’t be any good as a defensive winger or harrier in the centre).
