Chelsea Away Shirt for 2012-13 Season: The Blues Go French [VIDEO]

Chelsea has officially unveiled their away shirt for the 2012-13 season.

Designed and manufactured by Adidas, Chelsea has gone French. The white kit with blue diagonal stripe is reminiscent of Marseille. According to the club website, “The strip is a modern design with a classic twist, featuring a light aqua diagonal flash across the main white body, and the first ever fading three stripe pattern on both sleeves. A navy v-neck collar and trim ensures that all the various colours synonymous with our success in recent years are well represented, while the shirt also features the adidas TechFit technology, which has been proven to enhance performance.”

  1. Not a big fan of the sash on any kit…but this kit looks pretty cool..the stripe fade is very nice…they should have done the fade on the sash too…

  2. Without the sash it would be fine for a white kit. The fading stripes are a pretty decent touch.

But the sash gives me the impression that I should half expect the player to be wearing a white military hat, aviator sunglasses, a ton of gold braid, and about 15 rows of medals on the chest.

Disagree with Alex about OM – I don’t think I ever remember them having the silly sash. They will have multiple diagonal stripes from time to time which look pretty decent. But never this whole Juan Peron summer-wear vibe.

  3. I think it would have been an awesome kit if it was just white. I am hoping the third kit is straight up yellow (not neon) with royal blue trim and royal blue shorts, but I have a feeling the third kit may be black.
