Blackburn Rovers may only have one match left as a Premier League side, but they’re still being covered under EPL Talk before being relegated to our ChampionshipTalk.com site for next season.

The latest news out of Ewood Park is an uplifting one instead of a depressing story line. It’s the new Blackburn Rovers home shirt for 2012-13, which has been leaked by the Football Shirts website.

Compared to the Blackburn Rovers home shirt for 2011-12, the new one for next season has dropped the red trim and has kept it simpler with just the blue and white colors that have made Rovers a famous club in Great Britain, being one of the founding members of the Football League from 1888. The design of the new Blackburn Rovers home shirt is well done. There’s a blue and white scarf motif at the back of the neck. The front of the shirt is simple, but elegant. The back of the shirt features a bit of flash with the lines across the top of the shoulders, but otherwise this is a straightforward design from Umbro who, once again, continue to release consistent quality jersey designs.

It’s just a shame that Rovers will be in the Championship next season. I thought they played well for most of the season except during the last few weeks where it seemed like some of their footballers had given up or weren’t playing as well as we know they can, due to nerves or lack of belief.
