Fifty six years ago, Manchester City played Birmingham City in the 1956 FA Cup Final at the old Wembley Stadium. The match will be forever remembered as the cup final where Manchester City goalkeeper Bert Trautmann, a former Nazi paratrooper, suffered a broken neck in the game, but bravely — and against all odds — continued playing until the final whistle.

I’ve read plenty of stories about the famous FA Cup Final, but I’ve never seen footage from the final, until now. Here are the highlights, shown in less than 3 minutes:

What are some of the things that jump out at you from this video? One for me is that I forgot that Don Revie played with Manchester City for five years. Revie is so wrapped up with the history of Leeds United that I often forget about the other clubs he was involved with.
