Chelsea USA Summer Tour 2012: Seattle, DC and New York Confirmed

frank lampard john terry Chelsea USA Summer Tour 2012: Seattle, DC and New York Confirmed

Chelsea will be playing friendlies in Seattle, Washington DC and New York this summer, according to Chelsea In America, the official Chelsea supporters group in the United States.

No dates have been confirmed, but the tour dates are expected to be mid- to late-July. In addition to Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur will also be playing friendlies in the United States this summer.

Exactly which Chelsea side will turn up and who will be managing the squad won’t be known until this summer. It’s possible that the squad could look quite different than in previous years when Chelsea has played in the United States. Chelsea veterans such as Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba seem to be on the outs, while the future of manager Andre Villas-Boas is up in the air.

Plus, some of the Chelsea players may not be available for the US summer tour due to playing in the Euro 2012 tournament (June 8-July 1), and/or the Olympics (July 26-August 12).

Nevertheless, it’ll still be a great honor to see Chelsea play another summer in the United States.

If you live in the Seattle, DC or New York areas, what are your thoughts about Chelsea playing this summer? Will you be planning on buying tickets? Share your feedback in the comments section below.

  2. harry cee says:

It may not live up to the hype of Man Utd v Barca last year, but I may go just to go see some live EPL action

  3. John says:

What jerseys warmups are they wearing

  4. CTBlues says:

I was hoping they would come to the States next summer so there wouldn’t be any international tournaments going on, but I will definetly go see them play in NY.

  5. Steve says:

I don’t think many want the Sounders to play them or are that excited for them to come to Seattle. They came 3 years ago and also 8. 3 times in a decade is a lot.

    • The Gaffer says:

I think there’ll be some Sounders fans who are burned out on Chelsea, I agree. But there’s plenty of room in that stadium for fans of Chelsea and the Premier League. I expect a large attendance as usual, even if not as many Sounders fans show up.

      Ahhhh what??????

Yea… three times in ten years is WAYYYYY to much. (sarcasm you d-bag)

The Steelers should move from Pittsburgh because they play there 8 times a year… a bit boring for the locals don’t ya think?

Red Sox…81 games at home OMG!!! What to do… the city must be sick of them…. send them to Buffalo…

      Crawl back under your rock….

  6. jamie says:

that is the gayest pic to ever to appear on this site.

  7. cfclaura says:

I would LOVE for them to play in DC. I will buy tickets the moment they go on sale!! KTBFFH!!!

  8. CTBlues says:

Chelsea will be playing Celtic at Yankee Stadium this summer no date yet and it looks like they will also play in Philly.

  9. Alex says:

I live in North Jersey, right by Red Bull Arena. Unfortunately heard The Blues are coming to Yankee Stadium, not RBA. Either way that’s only a PATH ride and a Subway right away. Definitely attending that match, also probably making the 3 1/2 trip to DC for that one too. Heard another rumor of a game in Philly as well, if so, definitely going to that one. So happy they are coming back to the States this year.

  10. Nate says:

Was the Blues would come to the middle of the country as well!!! Not everyone can afford a trip to the east and west coast!

  11. Jamie says:

Yes, as it turns out, AVB’s future, as of the article’s publication, was, indeed, up in the air.

  12. Tom says:

My wife and I are going to see them in D.C vs A.C Milan July 28th 2012 does anyone know of any package tours which they might be running ? We are traveling from FL also any news on when tickets go on sale

  13. Joshua says:

Three cities, that’s it? What about Dallas??? C’mon Chelsea…

  14. Parvi Klair says:

My family is a big fan of the team and we would for sure purchase tickets to see the game. We live in Indiana but are willing to fly or drive to New York for sure!!!

  15. Brett m says:

I would like it if they came closer to the Detroit area to play, it’s too far for me to go to Seattle, d.c., or new York just to watch them for one day
