LA Galaxy will lock horns with Houston Dynamo as the underdog tags remains very much on the Texans for this tie. With the Californians at home for this highly-anticipated clash, the onus is on them to capture cup glory to bring the curtain down an amazing season for the club and the MLS statistics firmly back them up as the favorites for this massive occasion.

Robbie Keane set to play his first ever MLS cup final

Los Galaticos have already captured the MLS title, finishing with the second highest points total ever in a regular season. They also added the Supporters Shield to their trophy cabinet earlier this season, their second successive win of this trophy. Bruce Arena’s men have already disposed of the New York Red Bulls and Real Salt Lake on their way to this final and their favourites tag is truly deserved ahead of this mouth-watering encounter.

However the home team will be without Chad Barrett, who is out with a dislocated foot. In his place though is Robbie Keane. The Irish striker returns to club action after helping his side to the European Championship next summer and has dispelled any rumors he may be jet-lagged for this cup final.

The ex-Liverpool forward will be partnered up front by Adam Cristman and the duo will be supported by David Beckham, Landon Donovan, Mike Magee and Juninho. Josh Saunders will be in goal and his rearguard will be composed of Todd Dunivant, Sean Franklin, A.J. DeLaGarza and Omar Gonzalez.

Meanwhile Dominic Kinnear’s side were dealt a crushing blow ahead of the big game as they learned of the extent of the injury to their star player, Brad Davis. The left winger suffered a torn quad muscle in his side’s match against Sporting Kansas City and he will be replaced by Corey Ashe on the left flank. He will be joined in midfield by Luiz Camarago, Adam Moffat and Danny Cruz.

They will be hoping to create the chances for team captain, Brian Ching and his striking team-mate Calen Carr.Tally Hall will be the goalkeeper as he hopes to frustrate the Galaxy’s star-studded attack. He will be assisted by having Andre Hainault, Bobby Boswell, Jermaine Taylor and Geoff Cameron in defense.

Brian Ching will be hoping to upset the odds

Although LA Galaxy are preferred win this match if you asked most football fans, they will also agree that anything can happen in football. With Houston Dynamo having a fantastic attitude backed up by capable players, it should make for an intriguing and exciting cup final.
